Abstract
[Purpose]
The purpo se of the study is to exam ine the impact of digitalisation on the field
of jurisprudenc e with a special focus on ensuring cyb er protection of informatio n.
[Methodology/ap proach/design]
The st udy methodology includes t he analysis of cyber
threats for law fir ms, such as phishing and distr ibuted denial of service (DDoS) attacks, an
assessment of international cybersecurity standards (Budapest Convention, ISO/IEC
27001), and the use of modern security technologie s ( encryption, m ulti-factor
authentication) .
[Findings]
Employee training program mes and the possibilit ies of using artificial
intelligence and machine learning to autom ate data protecti on were examine d. Electronic
platforms simplify the exchang e of documents and increase the transparenc y of interactions
due to the session recording function. The legal field is facing acute cybersecurity problems

due to the processin g of confide ntial information. The main types of c yber-attacks faced
by law firms include ph ishing, ransomware, and DDoS attac ks. Each of the se attacks can
have serious consequences for data security, the reputation of companies, and their ability
to provide lega l services.
[Practical implicati ons]
The research un derscores the critical need for la w f irms to
implement robu st cybe rsecurity measures, including comp liance with international
standards and regular employee training, to pr otect sen sitive inf ormation a nd main tain
client trust. This shift not only enhances opera tional efficiency and co mpliance but also
positions firms compe titively in a digitally-driven market, ultim ately impacting client
access to legal services and the overall landscape of legal practice.
[Originality/value ]
The developmen t of specialised software for the legal field has opened
up new opport unities to improve the effic iency and protection of infor mation, ensur ing
compliance w ith legislation and integra tion with external systems .

INTRODUCTION
Digitalisation has substantially transformed the legal field, which is
associated with a sharp increase in the volume of electronic data and the active
use of digital tools for creating, storing, and processing documents. The transition
to electronic documents simplifie s the search, access, and exchange of
information, which speeds up processes and increases the efficiency of law firms.
In addition, the use of cloud technologies allows providing access to data from
anywhere in the world and facilitates th e work of remote em ployees.
Collaboration on documents becomes easier due to the possibility of simultaneous
editing and a simplified approval process.
Nevertheless, the transition to electronic document management is not
without risks. Electronic documents are subject to cybersecurity threats, requiring
substantial investments in data protection (Nurbatyrova et al., 2024). Dependence
on technology can also become a problem, as technical failures or loss of Internet
access can temporarily paralyse the company ’s work. In addition, not all
jurisdictions recognise electronic documents equally with paper ones, which
complicates the work with intern ational cases. The transition to electronic
document management also requires training of employees in new technologies,
which can be difficult for those who are accustomed to traditional working
methods (Kerimkhulle et al., 2023). Digitalisation in law creates many critical
challenges, among which the issues of cybersecurity and technological
sustainability are highlighted (Amelin et al., 2021). Switching to electronic
documents an d virtual consultations substantially increases the vulnerability of
law firms to cyber-attacks, which can lead to the leakage of confidential
