XP's CTO promoted to CEO
XP's Chief Technology Officer Thiago Maffra will take over as CEO on May 12, in the first change since the company was founded 20 years ago. The announcement on Friday night came as a surprise as it is the first time a Brazilian lender makes such a move. In one of the few interviews given by the executive, a month ago, Mr. Maffra said XP wants to be recognized "as the best Brazilian technology company" and be disruptive in other segments, "as it did in investments."
