Lula calls for punishment to vandals, criticizes fake news spread by Bolsonaro

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said on Wednesday that "everyone will be punished," referring to the radical supporters of President Jair Bolsonaro who invaded and depredated the buildings of the three branches of government on Sunday, as well as those who promote new acts against the democratic system.Mr. Lula also commented on a video released by former president Jair Bolsonaro in the early hours of the morning on his social media with fake news. The video propagated the false theory that Mr. Lula did not win the election. Mr. Bolsonaro deleted the video two hours after, a strategy previously used to disseminate false information. "Lula was not elected by the people, he was chosen and elected by the Federal Supreme Court and by the Superior Electoral Court," said the video caption. President Lula linked the behavior of Mr. Bolsonaro’s radical supporters to the fact that he refused to concede the election."Regrettably, the president who left power on December 31 does not concede the election.
