Tax revenue has 18% real increase in June, to R$181bn

The federal tax receipts reported a real increase of 17.96% in June when compared to the same month last year, reaching R$181.040 billion, data released on Thursday show.The high collection in June this year "can be explained, mainly, by the growth in receipts" of Business Income Tax (IRPJ) and Social Contribution over Net Profit (CSLL), according to the Secretariat of Federal Revenue (RFB).The collection of the two taxes reached R$34.27 billion in the month, an increase of 37.47%, inflation-adjusted, compared to the same period last year. "It is important to note that there were atypical payments of approximately R$6 billion by companies linked to the commodities sector," said the (RFB).With last month’s performance, the collection in the first half reached the mark of R$1.089 trillion, a real increase of 11% against the same period of 2021.The June result is the best since official records began in 1995. The figure for the first half of the year is also the best in the series.Without inflation adjustment, the collection showed an increase of 31.98% in June against the same month last year, when it totaled R$137.169 billion.Considering only the revenues managed by the RFB, there was a real increase of 17.12% last month, totaling R$174.302 billion, compared with the same month last year. The nominal high would be 31.05%.
