Abstract: The construction of a historical-rhetorical research, along the lines
placed by Adeodato, follows a series of reconstructed categories from Aristotle,
Ballweg etc So are analyzed within specic methodology pathos ethos and
logos in the Pontes de Miranda’s works. In addition, the triadic structure (ma-
terialstrategic andanalytical rhetoricis designedfor amore suitablerecon-
struction of the history of ideas of the Brazilian jurist. In addition, a metaphor
of “play of lenses” is designed to facilitate the presentation of the conclusions.
Themetaphorsoperatorisaculturalgure thatappearsin todayscomplex
societyaagrantreactiontothehighdegreeofuidityoftheirsocialenviron-
ment and fragmentation that characterize our time. Thus the subject-observer
postmodern lives in an environment of constant provocations and proposals. In
this way, values such as subversion will be of great value to this paper. Meta-
phor here is the human capacity to move of its axes preestablished meanings in
cultural constructions earlier. The metaphor then is, itself, a constant innova-

This paper aims to demonstrate the gap between what “was said” about Pontes

tivist” and later “critical nominalist”. Despite of being an heir of thought com-
ing of the Vienna Circle, Pontes de Miranda exceeded expectations and ways
of thinking about the world that the philosophical group used. The ontology
