TRANSFEMINISMO: CONTRADIÇÃO NA OPRESSÃO

Resumo: O transfeminismo brasileiro surge em um momento de mudanças no
ativismo trans. As mudanças nas dinâmicas sociais e políticas permitiram novos tipos
de agentes políticos que trazem tanto novidades nas formas de luta e organização
política quanto o perigo da fragmentação política do movimento. Para que o
movimento político de travestis e transexuais possa beneficiar-se das novos tipos de
ativistas e formas de ativismo é fundamental expandir a consciência social e abraçar
de forma mais radical o todo das lutas sociais. Neste trabalho, a obra de Paulo Freire
mostra-se valiosa ao trazer historicidade e fundamentação crítica sobre o contexto
brasileiro.

Abstract: The Brazilian transfeminism arises amidst changes in trans activism. Changes
in social and political dynamics have empowered new kinds of political actors. While
enabling new ways for the movement to organize and act, this also brings the danger
of political fragmentation. If the transvestite and transsexual movements are to
benefit from these new types of activists and forms of activism, expanding its social
awareness and radically embracing all social struggles is of fundamental importance.
In this work, Paulo Freire’s writings prove invaluable in bringing historicity and critical
reasoning to the Brazilian context.
