Resumo: O direito à privacidade é essencial para um convívio social mais
ameno. Contudo, a internet, símbolo principal da globalização, limita o
escopo desta garantia. A partir de uma breve evolução histórica desse
direito e a construção de um conceito inicial associado a importantes
decisões judiciais, faremos a conexão entre Direito, internet e
globalização. Através do contato entre esses conceitos, falaremos dos
limites à privacidade no espaço cibernético e como o ordenamento jurídico
brasileiro pode lidar com os conflitos on-line. Ao final, comentaremos
sobre a privacidade ligada às investigações criminais.

Abstract: The right to privacy is essential for a more relaxed social life.
However, the internet, the main symbol of globalization, limits the scope
of this guarantee. From a brief historical evolution of this right and the
construction of an initial concept associated with important judicial
decisions, we will make the connection between law, internet and
globalization. Through the contact between these concepts, we will talk
about the limits to privacy in cyberspace and how the Brazilian legal
system can deal with online conflicts. In the end, we will comment on
privacy related to criminal investigations.
